How does the point system work for MarioKart Wii?
Mario Kart's online scoring system is based on these three factors:
1) # of total racers with you. The more people racing with you, the more points you can earn.
2) How many points the other racers have over or under you. If people have more points than you, you can earn more points. If people have less points than you, you won't earn many points. You can even lose points if you don't beat them.
3) Whether you get 1st, place high, place low, or place last. Place 1st or place high to earn points. Place low or come in last place to lose points. If you disconnect in the middle of a race, you'll automatically go to last place (unless other people disconnected before you).
